We are a slow fashion shop that creates beautiful, one-of-a-kind, free size, handmade and upcycled Bohemian designs out of vintage fabrics, primarily in partnership with villages in India and Bangladesh. You can read more about these partnerships

Through these incredibly special partnerships, we are able to provide hope, stability, and fair wages to these artisans to help meet their basic needs and beyond. We are so grateful to make the difference that we do, and everything Kantha Bae does is for them.

 In addition to our one-of-a-kind collections, we’ve also been able to partner with ethical U.S. based factories to bring our Open Hands line to life - a line of organically dyed, eco-friendly cotton completer clothing like Tees and Pullovers and the most stretchy, cozy bell bottoms you’ll ever own. Kantha Bae has a genuine vision to make a difference in the world of apparel and beyond, and a mission to truly ‘see people’. In saying this, we put loving and hearing our artisan partners, our employees, and our sweet community at the forefront of everything we do. People are, and always will be the true heartbeat of Kantha Bae. 

 “It’s about so much more than just clothes,” is a statement repeated daily here amongst our team, as well as to our community of shoppers. We are so passionate about our mission to make a tangible difference daily in every life we touch, and we hope to pave the way for change in the way people view apparel, accessories, and shopping as a whole.

In everything we touch here as a brand, we always go back to the question, “How can this make a tangible difference in the lives of others?” 

Since our brand’s inception, we have provided consistent and dignified work to artisans in villages in India and Bangladesh, and ethical factories in California since 2021. We have ensured these partners pay fair wages to their workers, provide healthy and safe spaces to work in, and uphold positive culture throughout their daily work. 

At the end of every year, we proudly donate a portion of all of our sales to the villages in India and Bangladesh to help with any other needs they may have.
